I cut thru the windscreen and door pillars then around the boot lid opening line at the back.  

After removing the desired amount from the pillars I trimmed the boot lit until it all fit back together neatly.

Pirelli notes from Donington Park

Giorgio Barbier (Racing Director Pirelli Moto) analyzes the fifth round of the year, held at Donington Park (UK), from the point of view of the championship’s official one-make tyre supplier.

“This weekend on English soil provided truly great and heated races for both Superbike and Supersport. The work done during the tests at Imola proved to be very important: in Superbike the R302 solution for the rear, developed from this year’s standard SC1, designed to work at lower temperatures and to prevent cold tearing, was quite popular with pretty much all the riders. In Supersport as well, the R303, also a development of the SC1, was chosen by various riders. For this reason, given the excellent feedback received, we will definitely see these two solutions again in some of the future championship races. The Superbike Championship competition is very tight every year, and this year is no exception: in race two six different manufacturers crossed the finish line in the top six places, which shows just how much Pirelli’s work contributes to placing all the teams in optimum conditions to be able to realistically aspire to the world title. In addition to congratulations to Marco Melandri and Jonathan Rea, respectively the winners of race 1 and race 2, my compliments go to Max Biaggi who had the best lap in both races as well as Sam Lowes, current ranking leader of the Pirelli Supersport Best Lap Awards”

BMW WSBK Press Release: Marco Melandri And Leon Haslam Talk About BMW’s First 1-2 Finish in WSBK

BMW have been waiting for a win in World Superbikes for a long time. Ever since they entered the series in 2009, the German factory has been edging ever closer to podiums and a victory, but they have always proved elusive. At Donington, they finally got what they had been waiting for for so long, and more: Not only did Marco Melandri become the first ever rider to win a World Superbike race on a BMW, but his teammate Leon Haslam finished 2nd, making it a historic 1-2. The duo could even have repeated the feat in the second race at the British track, if not for some rather excessively enthusiastic riding on the part of the two leaders and Johnny Rea.

After the victory, BMW issued a press release containing an interview with Melandri and Haslam, talking about their historic result at Donington. It is reproduced below:

Today was the second bone marrow drive for Jeremy McGrath‘s wife Kim at the Monster Energy Headquarters in Corona, CA. Kim was recently diagnosed with “Leukemia Cutis”, which is Leukemia of the skin and will likely undergo a bone marrow transplant soon. Jeremy has taken to social media outlets in an effort to get more people registered as donors. The event was filled with friends and fans of the Motocross industry that were all willing to help “be the one to save a life.” Joining the registry is a simple, and painless process – we truly have the power to save lives!

This week I caught up with Kevin Windham. In the video below, Kevin Windham talks about the Superbowl Champions, the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, his family, his future plans for racing and beyond.

The Superbowl XLIV champions, the New Orleans Saints, have many fans – among them is none other than the number 14 in Supercross, Kevin Windham. While the NFL season started when Supercross was in its off season, Kevin was able to take part in season tickets to his favorite NFL team – da’ Saints. Eventually the 2010 Supercross season got underway in January, which meant Kevin was flying off after those Saturday night Main Events back East to watch the New Orleans Saints Playoff games.

On February 7, 2010 the New Orleans Saints headed to the Superbowl in Miami, Florida and Kevin Windham and his wife Dottie made arrangements to attend this momentous occasion. First, however Kevin had to finish up a Supercross race in San Diego the night before.
